Track: Turf, right handed.

Track Bias: Races start in the back straight with a short run to the corner. Horses drawn wide often try to boot up for a good position going round which can cost them in the final straight when the sprint is really on from about 400m out. Inside draw is an advantage if you start well and hold a rails run.

History: The Hong Kong Sprint was first run in 1999 over 1000m. The Race was extended to 1200m and given Group1 Status in 2006 and won by Absolute Champion with a track record that still stands. Highly regarded as one of the best international sprint races and forms part of the Global Sprint Challenge.
